Senior Low Latency Network Engineer / Architect Job

 As a Senior Low Latency Network Engineer and Architect, the candidate with joining a team of Low Latency staff located around the world, bringing their skills and experience to Design and Build of Low Latency Infrastructure solutions for Equities, Fixed Income, and Wealth Management customers within the bank.

This role also focuses on devising and implementing automation and operational enhancements of the Low Latency, HFT, and other bespoke platforms as well as several other strategic architecture initiatives globally.

The candidate will work closely with Low Latency application teams and production support to understand their needs and engineer solutions for them. These will include High-Performance Cooling Systems, FPGA, GPU, Microwaves.

Will work directly with application development teams in IBIT and front office businesses globally to provide solutions to their complex infrastructure requirements and support their existing infrastructure and applications.

The role will require service management of the following services in a global capacity.

• Ultra and Low Latency Hosting Service

• Low Latency Market Data and Order Execution Service

• Client Onboarding & Connectivity Service

• Application Latency Monitoring and Reporting Service

• Performance & Monitoring Engineering Required Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)

• Excellent knowledge of Layer 1, 2, Layer 3, Layer 4 protocols (STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, VLAN/VxLAN, VRRP/HSRP, TCP/UDP, ACL, TACACS+, SNMP, NTP/PTP, VRF)

• Solid knowledge of multicast & message bus technologies

• Strong knowledge of network monitoring PCAP decoding tools landscape (Corvil, Inmon, SFlow, timestamping)

• Knowledge of Algorithmic/DMA/HFT and trading platforms and how the trade lifecycle operates a must

• Solid understanding of Market Venue / Exchange protocols (binary, FIX, Itch, Outch, Pillar, etc.) and trading systems across multiple asset classes

• Ability to track and report on network, systems, and application-level latency, using granular timestamping tools, telemetry data, network transaction insight from packet decoders, etc.

• Strong network automation scripting skills (Python, Perl, UNIX shell)

• Strong, working knowledge of UNIX operating systems (RHEL, SUSE), with the ability to download and build a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
